Accommodation at The Exchange

The Exchange is located just outside the historic village of Kohukohu on the Hokianga Harbour. Situated in a quiet and secluded valley, are two serviced cottages, Bush Cottage and The Lodge, surrounded by 27 acres of Park like grounds and mature native forest. You will be centrally placed to visit many of Northlands visitor attractions or you could just relax, chill out and exchange the every day rush of life for something slower – Hokianga time! The Exchange offers guests the opportunity for a secluded getaway, just off the usual tourist trail. You will be able to relax to the sound of the Tui’s or walk through the mature forest to see the Kauri and Puriri trees. A relaxing escape, for short or long breaks any time of the year. The village of Kohukohu is an historic village right on the Harbour front with a Café, General Store, Art Galleries, Burger bar and Pub. The historic walk through the village will show you its heritage as you wonder through the quiet streets and lanes. Accommodation: Bush Cottage – Sleeps two in comfort Ideal for couples and those who just want to be alone, this eco friendly studio style accommodation comprises double bedroom/living room with well-equipped kitchenette, ensuite shower room, composting toilet and basin. The private and secluded deck area over looking the Bush, combined with the songs of the Tuis’ will ensure your alfresco meals are a joy to remember. The cottage also benefits from a cosy wood burning fire for the cooler evenings. Tariff $90 to 120 per night with discounted rates for increased length of stay. The Lodge – Sleeps up to 6 people in comfort Comprising two single sleeping areas set above the main living area on a mezzanine floor, with two bedrooms downstairs, with a queen bed in the master bedroom and a double bed/bunk combo in the second bedroom. Here is an eco-friendly composting toilet, basin and shower. The accommodation also includes a well-equipped kitchen. The Lounge area includes a TV for playing DVD’s, and doors which open out onto the front and rear decks. Wrap around decks will ensure you capture the morning and afternoon sun and shade, just perfect for those alfresco meals. Galleria Bed and Breakfast

The Galleria, charming home with panoramic views overlooking Motiti Island, Hokianga Harbour in historic Kohukohu Village is a delightful destination. Hostess Louisa Geddes is an Australian artist and guests may view her artworks at the Geddes Gallery situated in The "Old Fell Boat Sheds" at the bottom of the garden. Early morning sunshine spills into the dining room and terrace, eat your breakfast with picturesque harbour views. Louisa happily shares local knowledge and offers art workshops in the Geddes Gallery. Holly the resident Papillon dog gives guests a rousing welcome. The Galleria is within walking distance of all facilities in this very friendly village of Artisans. The Waterfront Cafe is a special venue for casual dining on the Harbour. Mountain View Retreat
